Stop searching

There’s that old, obnoxious saying about how “the grass is always greener on the other side.” I think that by now we pretty much all know that’s not true. You search and search for that one thing that will make you better. The old stand-by of “I’ll do that when…”

You’re married

You finish school

You have a baby

You get a new job

This is just a killer of joy. It hit me one day that when you spend your whole life looking, you never really see anything. It’s easy to consistently look past what is right in front of you. When you’re looking for the next the best thing it’s hard to see the best thing that is right in front of you.
